Well its Saturday night and I attended the Closing Ceremony with some sadness. This Championship is the one that I think I will have the fondest memories of. The location, atmosphere and friendliness of everybody involved was amazing. While on the one hand I was following cheating allegations in the sport on the other I was looking at the future of the game and I know which I prefer. We were treated to another song of friendship from the Chinese contingent beautifully dressed in traditional Chinese costume.

Very enjoyable and added a lovely tone to the closing ceremony

To recount the last few days, Zlatan (Simon Ekenberg, Simon Hult, Rodrigo Garcia De Rosa, Giuseppe Delle Cave, Daniel Gullberg, Johan Karlsson and Marshall Lewis NPC) played Norway (Christian Bakke, Harald Eide, Tor Elvind Grude and Kristoffer Hegge) for the Gold Medal.

Greswe Axon (Adam Kaplan (USA), Ioannis Oikonomopoulos from Greece (GRE), Mikael and Ola Rimstedt (SWE), and Giorgos Oikonomopoulos Coach) played against Australia (Renee Cooper, Ella Pattison, Shane Harrison, Maxim Henbest, Jamie Thompson and Stephen Williams and Justin Williams NPC) for the Bronze.  Zlatan jumped out with a good early lead 48-9 after sixteen board but despite a good fightback which saw Norway  which saw them trailing by just 3 imps with eight boards to go Zlatan prevailed  114-89.

In the Bronze Medal match the teams were only one imp apart after 16 boards but during the second segment Greswe Axon led by 31 and hanging on to win by 26 despite Australia getting within 13 imps with 9 boards to go.

After teams were knocked out of the main teams event they could drop into the Board-a-Match Teams. The result of the final played on Saturday was:
