Today there will be a meeting of the World Bridge Federation Youth Committee to discuss all matters youth. It will confirm the 2016 Championships in Salsomaggiore (Italy), the 2017 Championships overlapping the World Championships in Lyon and determine the location for the 2018 Championships although I have heard some rumours that Opatija is being considered – I for one would love the chance to come back here.

A previous World Championship has been held in Salsomaggiore in northern Italy at the foot of the Apennines. I am told the architecture, ambience and tourist scene in this relatively small spa town of just 21,000.

There isn’t much more to report with these Championships winding down except that among the staff there has been much discussion about cheating allegations at the top of the game and such and if you have been living in a cave check it out at BridgeWinners.com. Mercifully we don’t need to worry about things like that at this level of the game.

I’ll send my last entry on Saturday evening or Sunday morning and thanks for joining me on what has been a most enjoyable Junior World Championship
